Review: MAC Lipstick in Sweetie

I've been on the look out for a a new MAC lipstick recently and have been trawling through Internet swatches trying to find 'the one'. Last Saturday was the day I finally went to the MAC counter to swatch some of the lipsticks I'd liked the look of on the Internet but when I got there, there's so many I just picked up ones I liked the look of and that's how I found this beauty! I had never heard of it before but it was love at first swatch :)

Sweetie is a lustre finish so it's quite sheer and shimmery which I thought I wouldn't like but it's actually not that bad! A tad drying but nothing lip balm can't fix. Colour wise, it seriously is a perfect everyday colour for me! I have quite pigmented lips and I prefer wearing deeper, berry pink colours just like this lipstick (the hand swatch shows it too be a bit 'brighter' than what it is - bullet colour is more accurate in 2nd and 3rd pics) It's pigmented without being full on so of course you can have it as light or as full on as you like. I know 'deeper' lip colours are more suited to the colder months but in my opinion this is a more spring/summer deep colour as it's sort of bright at the same time if that makes sense. I also love the name, haha :)

This instantly makes my lips look nice and healthy and perks my complexion up nicely. I really love this! I like the formula much more than I thought I would (even though, cremesheen is still my fave!) and the colour is perfect for me. I would highly recommend checking this lipstick out if your into deeper pinks like me.

  1. Love at first swatch, LOL! I love that. The way you explained it as being a deep colour but a spring colour I agree with, especially because it's shimmery. I have a very, VERY similar lipstick by No 7 from Boots, I think it's called Pink Crush. x

    1. Haha, yes I really love it and know I will be wearing it in the warmer months without feeling like its out of place being a tad darker than baby pinks and corals x
