5 things to be happy about

My giveaway prizes from Hayley arriving this week. A gorgeous new mac lipstick and eyeshadow along with a lovely card.
My dog, Pixie, waking up with her tongue out (and it stayed like that for ages haha)
Finding out I got an A* on my Biology end of unit test today
My nails - yes really. I love the colour they are right now, it's now chipped though :(
My birthday being next week and getting the day off school! My birthday is next Tuesday (4th March) and luckily, at school we have this thing a few times a year where you meet with your tutor for 10 minutes but other than that you are off. 1) This year it falls on my birthday, yippee! 2) I managed to get an appointment on the day before after school, so I don't even have to go in at all.
Sometimes it's nice to sit back and appreciate the little things which can often be overlooked. Sometimes I think negatively about a lot of things that happen, so I'm hoping to do more posts like these in the future, appreciating a handful of things that have made me smile and that I'm happy about.

A Belated Lush Haul

So...A little belated post here! I actually placed a Lush online order around three weeks ago as a kind of "whatever, I'm gonna treat myself" little thing. The majority of things I bought I'd never tried before so thought, y'know, it was a good excuse to buy it. I still haven't used a couple of these things yet so I can't give a mini review of everything, but I will for the things I have tried out.
American Cream Conditioner 100g £4.50 : I can't really smell the strawberry in this, but it's very vanillary! I've used this twice and it has made my hair feel very soft and less tangly when I comb it out after washing my hair, I don't know if I'd repurchase as it's quite expensive and isn't "Wow"
Vanilla Puff Dusting Powder £4.75 : This is a vanilla scented powder which, you guessed it, I haven't yet tried but I will soon as I really want to try it out! I tested a little on my arm when I got it and it did make it feel very smooth.
Twilight Bath Bomb £3.25 : I've had this a few times in the past and I like to use this before bed as it is a soothing lavender scent. It also makes the bath look very pretty with a swirly pink/lilac/blue pattern. This is great if you have trouble sleeping, to be extra comforting.
Porridge Soap 100g £3.10 : I already have a block of this and despite not using bar soaps loads, as I usually favour a liquid form, it smells delicious so I had to get another block to use! It does smell very warm and 'breakfasty' but also with hints of chocolate! It has small oats in it too so it gives a very, very slight bit of exfoliation.
Close to you massage bar £5.50: Not much to say here, as I've done a review on it which you can view HERE
Honey I washed the Kids Soap and Angels on Bare Skin Samples: I asked for the soap sample as I wanted to try it again. It smells like toffee and honey, very yummy! The cleanser I've used before and I've used lush cleansers for about six months however recently bought a new one from a different brands which once I've tested enough will have some thoughts on to post!

Let me know if you would like me to review anything here and I will do so once I have tested it out more! Also, as I was checking on the website for prices I noticed they have their Easter and Mothers Day range available....uh oh this can only end one way...

What is your favourite lush product?

Patisserie De Bain Strawberry Cupcake Hand Cream

For Christmas, I received this gorgeous hand cream in my stocking. I knew I was getting it because I told my mum how much I liked it so was so excited to be able to open it and start using it! It has quickly become my current favourite hand cream and here is why...
First of all, how cute is the packaging?! The box it comes in is so pretty, but I love how it comes in a little jar, it reminds me of a mini pot of jam! So maybe not the most practical packaging (it does also come in a tube if you prefer that), but I prefer to keep this at home so it's not a problem for me. It does look quite small, but you only need a small amount as it's quite rich yet sinks in incredibly quickly without feeling greasy or too heavy. The scent is very sweet, smelling obviously of strawberries but it's not a 'fresh' strawberry scent it's kind of quite 'bakery' if that makes sense, it's quite a warm strawberry smell (that literally makes no sense but it's the best I can describe it!) the point is, it smells edible and absolutely delicious!
Patisserie De Bain also do four other scents: Lemon Bonbon, Sugared Violet, Raspberries & Roses and Coconut Ice. I also loved the Sugared Violet scent which smells just like parma violets so I think I will have to get my hands on that soon! This is the first products I've tried from Rose & Co's 'Patisserie De Bain' brand and I definitely want to try more, they all smell gorgeous and come in the most pretty packaging, what's not to love?
RRP £5 available from HERE
Have you tried anything from Patisserie De Bain before?

Lush Close to You Massage Bar

Hello everyone :)
I've been slightly MIA on here lately...oops, and I feel really bad after setting my self the goal of posting more this year! I'm just so lazy, even when it's something I love! I think I definitely need to start scheduling posts so I can write a few when I feel in a bloggy mood and then spread them out! Anyway, Valentines day has been...and gone and yet I'm still doing a little review of this valentines product from Lush as it's still available to buy!

(Sorry it's round the other way, it's really annoying me but no time to take another the right way round!)

If you've never tried or come across a 'massage bar' from lush before, it is essentially a body lotion in solid form. It contains lots of butters which on contact with warm skin begin to melt, so all you do is rub it in between your hands a bit and then rub on. I think the majority do it this way but you could also break a little piece of and use it like that!

I was excited to see a limited edition massage bar called 'Close to You' (£5.50) as usually, they don't usually come around all that often and I was even more excited on discovering it has the scent of one of my favourite lush bath products - creamy candy bubble bar! I actually ordered this online a few weeks ago along with some other goodies which will feature in a haul soon but I had smelt it quickly in stone and seemed lovely. This is quite a 'novelty' product, it's a little more messy and fiddly than a body lotion in a tube but they do feel nice when you apply it and they are lovely and moisturising. I find the scent lingers for a long time and is quite strong which is a good thing but unfortunately, for this one, it wasn't great for me! I love the creamy candy scent, but in this type of product I found it way too sickly and overwhelming and after the first few uses I haven't used it again as it makes me feel a little sick :(

I may put a little in the bath and see if it works as a bath melt? I'm sure the scent would be a lot softer but would linger! I do like the lush massage bars (I am a fan of 'Each Peach') and I would recommend this if you like the smell - but be warned it is rather strong!

This is still available online and I'm sure it will be in store too for a while as they sell it until they sell out! Will you be grabbing it before it's gone?

Top Products | January

Hello and happy February!
At the start of the year I decided I wanted to try and do a favourites post every month of this year, showcasing the products I've loved and used the most. So far so good as I have some products to share which definitely have been my top products. It's not loads but they all genuinely have been favourites in January.

The Body Shop Raspberry Body Butter - yum. This smells like raspberry yogurt and I've been using it nearly every day to keep myself hydrated through this awful cold weather.

Lush Ocean Salt Scrub - This won't be for you if you have sensitive skin, it's very abrasive but if you have congested skin this works really well and making you skin insanely soft! Just make sure your scrub very lightly as the first time I used this I scrubbed a bit too hard and my skin was all red and blotchy!

PINK Sweet & Flirty Body Mist - I got four mini PINK body mists for Christmas and this is without a doubt my favourite. It's such a sweet, sugary girly scent which I've used every day. It's a really light scent but as I find perfume way too strong no matter what the scent, this is perfect.

Patisserie De Bain Strawberry Cupcake Hand Cream - Another Christmas gift was this adorable hand cream. It comes in the cutest little pot and smells delicious. It's quite thick but sinks in really well, I will have a review up of this very soon.

Ciate Speed Coat - This mini topcoat from Ciate came in my Mini Mani Month I got in the sale and it has fast become my favourite topcoat. It's really really shiny (on par with seche vite I'd say!) and dries quickly too. I think this will be a repurchase when I finish this mini bottle

Burt's Bees Acai Berry Lip balm - I'm sure this has been discontinued but I was desperate to try a nice smelling burt's bees lip balm and I found this in waitrose. It was the only one left and I've been looking for it for ages after my friend said how good it is, and I really have to agree! This has been my 'go to' lip balm. It smells great and makes my lips really soft and isn't too waxy or greasy feeling - perfect!

Hopefully I can keep this series going each month as I enjoy reading (and writing) them. I'd love to know what you've been loving this month too!
